Custom molded kick panels in a Z, idea could work for a G35 as well...

just finished trimming and installing a set of 350z kick panels. I molded them out of the stock kicks, and they really take up almost no space at all. on the driver side, it sticks out, INCLUDING the depths of the speaker, about 1.75 inches, ont he passenger side, about 1.5"...tahts it

imaging is dead on and the staging is nice and high at windshield/dash level, DLS works awesome in off axis kicks, if you think its BS, feel free to contact 350zforum member gq 350z for a listen

i was going to vinyl it and then decided to do suede, a little tougher to wrap it with suede since its not as stretchable and you cant heat it, but hte result is a more durable and classy look, since he may soon upgrade the seats to something suede...

the idea can apply to g35s as well...on manual g35s, something similar can be done, on auto and manuals, you can do a 3 way set up wtih the midbass molded and sealed into the door, and midrange and tweet in the icks, even less space taken up and will sound awesome

What about the fuse box? And as the kicks don't seem to be angled towards the seats much, how is this better than in the doors and sail panel?

the kick removes can be removed in about 30 seocnds flat and reinstalled.

contrary to popular believe, on axis/off axis is not the most beneficial part of kick panels...many spekares are designed with radiating patterns that would very nicely off axis

as for why this is better than stock location and sale panels...lets see

solid center image
high staging
balanced point source sound
much better midbass
no door rattle or buzz
smoother upper midrange and highs

in other words, in every way possible from a sound quality standpoint
