Aftermarket Head Unit 03' Sedan

My head unit just went 'CD ERROR FO' and I tore it out and took all the CD's out but it is still broken. I am looking to replace the whole unit with an aftermarket one. I have a few questions. I have looked through the boards and found some docs and guides on doing this but am left with the following questions:

1. Where can i buy the DD conversion kit?
2. Are there any aftermarket head units that will work with or have been modified to work with the factory steering wheel controls? Can anyone suggest any brands or models in particular? I would be interested in a DD unit either with a screen or without.
3. Has anyone done this to an 03' ?

Thanks a lot man! Is it possible to get the replacement housing in black or just the silver color? I'd like to get a DD in-dash DVD player with 6.5" screen or so... anyone recommend one?

most people get them from Grubbs. It is cheaper easier, and they are Sponsor's of this forum, so in a way you can thank them for the info you are getting now buy purchasing through them.

But Yosi rules and has access to more products, like double din kits in all the different interior finishes, where as grubbs has just the brushed aluminum.

Both are good sources for the double din kit.

If you have the money get the Eclipse AVN5500, I have the 5435. You will need to purchase a PAC controller for the particular head unit and your car that will allow you to retain steering wheel controls. this will probably be $50-90.

That is what I have in my 2003 Sedan.

Do you have stock Navigation?

Yeah that's a sweet unit. I'm torn between dropping the cash on that or just a regular in-dash DD DVD player. I kind of like the Jensen VM9020TS because it has the built-in SD card too.

yeah seems like a nice alternative if you are trying to save a few $$$ but still get a sweet HU and don't care about Navi.

i would call them or find it implicitly stated what is the maximum capacity SD card the HU supports. cause that HU will rock when you can buy a 20GB SD card if it supports it, but it might only support up to 2GB or something like that.

According to Jensen's site the HU only supports up to 1GB Memory Card, I guess that is still cool but it's almost the same as a MP3 CD with 700MB.

Maybe you can get the Jensen HU with out the memory card reader for less $$$ and then use the savings for an ipod controller.

True... thanks for doing my research for me LOL. Cool thing about the SD card is I won't have to burn any CD's.
