I think I may have shorted out the VSS wire and need to replace the navigation control unit. Can I use the navi control unit from a 2005 Nissan Altima part NCU-6111G?
Will the harness fit and have the same features? Thanks

 

I seriously doubt you damaged the input of the Navi unit. If anything, you would have damaged the VDC/TCS module that generates the VSS signal. I would return everything to stock and see if that fixes the problem.

Nissan's electronic components will take quite a beating before burning anything up.

Does your speedo still work? What about speed controlled volume in the radio? Speedo?

You may also just try snipping the speed sensor wire after where you made the connection to see if that allows the navi to work again.
