Question For Those Who Upgraded Bose

Has anyone who replaced their amp and speakers had a problem with alternator whine? I upgraded to a JL500/5 amp w ith JL components up front and Alpine co-axials in the rear and a JL sub. The installer did not use a LOC because the JL amp said it did not require one. I was thinking of adding A LOC to see if it would reduce the whine, as the amp gains could be set lower. If anyone has any ideas/comments please share them. Thanks Guys.

Re: Question For Those Who Upgraded Bose

I upgraded everything but the head unit from the Bose crap in my sedan. Running a Punch 800a2 on (2) 12" subs and an Elcipse 4-Channel amp to my MB Quart components in the doors. I haven't had any alternator whine at all. Somtimes the whine can be introduced into the system by running power cables parralel to certain wires in the engine area. I'm not really an expert on wiring though... I also have a 1 farad cap, which might help take some load off the alternator.
