When I had my system, I had the bass **** mounted right underneath the center console arm rest. I have a 5AT so the setup is a little different.

Very clean, great job! And you still have full use of your storage.

They are potentiometers for your sub amp. They can increase gain within a certain bandwidth on your amp. JL amps have this feature "remote bass port". It would indicate "Bass Boost" or something of that nature.

Recommended crossover filter points?

Ok... but wouldn't you want the bass from the subwoofer "balanced" to the rest of the system? Why would you want to "boost" it?

I'm going to mount mine like underneath the drivers side console...its not like I'll be fiddling with it all that much anyway.

Couple of reasons:

1. Some songs hit the bass too hard, and this allows you to turn down the low bass while still keeping the rest of the music equal.

2. It allows you to adjust from inside the car to get it at exactly the right setting.

3. Sometimes you want to set off someones car alarm with your sub...

4. And finally, it's another neat little toy in the vehicle to play with instead of concentrating on the road....
