DVD/TV Tuner Installation

I'm getting my '04 Coupe this weekend. Ive been reading these forums and been wondering where the actual unit, along with the dvd player was installed. Anyone that has done this mod and has pictures of it, please let me know. My DVD/TV Tuner is on its way.
Thanks in Advance

Re: DVD/TV Tuner Installation

seen it installed under the passenger floor mats near the firewall as well as in a custom box in the trunk. What unit did you purchase?

Re: DVD/TV Tuner Installation

I bought the AVElectronics unit, and am putting a playstation2 as well. I'm getting my coupe tomorrow, which I'm dying for, and can't wait to figure out exactly what kind of mods I'll be doing. Any other suggestions from anyone?

Yep, that's my ride.. I have the exact setup that you are planning on getting. Overall, I'm very happy with the system. I use a Logitech wireless controller to control the PS2 from the cabin. It doesn't need line of sight so it works out great!

I don't use the PS2 everyday (just on roadtrips) so having to reset the PS2 when the car is turned on/off is not that big a deal. But if you're going to use the PS2 everyday I would either mount the PS2 inside the car so you can reach it or relocate the Reset button to inside the cabin. I'm still looking into the second option.

Re: DVD/TV Tuner Installation

Thanks a lot guys, both of your installs look really great. I still have to decide whether i wanna put the playstation outside or in. I got my DVD/TV Tuner today in the mail, and the dealer is expecting me tomorrow morning at 10am to pick up my ride!!! Time will tell how I install it, but I'll be sure to post pics. If anyone else has installed this, please let me know. Thanks again.

Re: DVD/TV Tuner Installation

I like how the AVElectronics' TV turner work. The only thing that I kinda dissappointed is the sound quality. Cuz the sound is coming from the FM mod. When I play CD, VCD, and DVD through my DVD changer, the sound is not like CD quality. I wish they find another way of audio output. And my screen turn a little bit blury when the engine is on? Does u guys' screen do that?

No, my screen stays the same with the car on or off. It might be the gnd cables from the avtuner to the OEM NAV or a weak connection of the pink wire.
If you look at my pics, I use a cassette adapter for the DVD audio and the cable is through the inside of the radio for a cleaner look. Sound is way better than FM but not the best.

Any type should work.
I used a cheap one to do the test. If I recall right it's a Kosi, paid $7 at the BX.
