car alarm installs

hey guys..its time for me to get a car alarm...what should I be getting..there is clifford, viper, ultra start and python etc...i know basic is tilt sensor, shock sensor and backup battery..i want a 2 way alarm..whats the range on these 2 ways?also any places in Ny metro area where I can get good prices on the alarm and install?thanks in advance!!!!

what does everyone here have and how much did you pay for everything?

The internals on the Clifford, Viper, and Python 2-way alarms are identical. Build quality is the same.

Per Consumer Reports, 80% of the effectiveness is installation.

Never heard of Ultra Start.

I would get glass mike 506T, tilt 507M (NOT T - T sucked) and impact included, and 520T backup battery.

If I ever get amthar's backup battery in and sent to him, I'm sure he will be posting a lot of info on alarm install

I have the Viper 791XV and I love it. The range on it is pretty good atleast for starting the car. I have not really had a time where the alram has went off and I was not far from the car. I would suggest this alarm to anyone, its served me well so far.

el duderino is correct on this, the installation is the most important factor when considering vehicle security.
