Where can I get a terminal just like this? I went to Autozone, Lowes, and Radio Shack...nothing. I need this tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance!

Looks like a barrier strip. You can find one at Radio Shack. What are you planning to use it for?

I was there for like 45 minutes today and they didnt have it...or at least they said that. Its for my rear view camera, tvandnav2go, and led rocker switcher from the cig lighter. Anywhere else?

Do you just want something to make connecting/disconnecting convenient?

The shack should have them. It's where I got mine. Ask for barrier strips or do a search on thier www and give the idiot the part number.

As an aside... whenever I leave the house to go the shack I always tell my wife "I'm going to radio shack to see what they don't have... be back in a bit..."

And of course when I get there, the pimply faced idoit behind the counter is only knowledgeable about the cell phones and mp3 players.

"So...yeah... I am in the need of some capacitors for a crossover network"

*blank stare*

"Capacitors. Most RADIOS have them...nevermind... I'll go rifle through the drawers in the back.... idiot..."

Sorry. I feel better now.

I want something that I can hook up 1 12v wire to and then hook the switches, the tvandnav2go, and the camera up to the it so that I dont have to tap into the cig lighter 4 different times. Will that thing work for that?

Yup. You just need to pick up a jumper when you get the strip.

What exactly is a jumper? (is there a more specific name? Its kinda hard to search it). Sorry Im not electrical savvy. Someone pointed this out, will it do exactly what I need w/o a jumper? http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...hId=5595453003

Ok I did a quick thing with ms paint. Will that work? If I ground the whole terminal like that do my led rocker switches still need to be grounded individually?

That is NOT going to work. Don't try it. You'll end up melting some wires and/or starting a fire. You can't connect the ground and 12V+ on the same strip. The problem with a barrier strip for this type of application is the exposed terminals which could lead to a short and fire if all wires are not fused. I'd use multiple T-taps from a single 12V+ source. You would need to make sure that your current draw does not exceed the fuse rating of the source circuit.

Ok forget that...I got these Butt connectors. Can I put a more than 1, like 5 wires coming out of one side to same me some splicing? Also I added another question to my last post. Sorry if I keep asking dumb questions.

Also, Can someone tell me if I got the right diode? Its to make power only come from the tailight for my reverse camera and not back. Its says 1NT4742A 12 volt Zener Diode. Its current is 21 mA and max dissipation is 1w. And is 20 guage wire okay to be using for the 12v and grounding? Thanks!

You can use a butt splice like that but it's likely that the multiple wires twisted together will be too big to fit in one end of the butt splice. You do not need to ground the LED switches individually (assuming you are switching the 12V+ wire). It's often safer to switch the ground rather than the + wire.

The led rocker switches require a ground so the led will light up. One is a replacement for the tvandnav2go toggle and the other is for the reverse camera.

Um. No.

Please. Go here.

www.bcae1.com

Start at the beginning. And read.

I really want to help, but the whole "teach a man to fish..." thing is weighing pretty heavily on me here.

To make matters worse... I am an OLD street skater so I feel like I have an obligation to help.

If you decide to read only one page... make it the page on fuses and wiring. You really need to get a fundamental understanding of how 12v works.

And I am really not trying to be a d!ck. I swear... the fact that I have been up since 5:00 AM probably isn't helping.

Nothing but love. I swear.

Thanks to the link to a page to buy a DVD. Really helpful. Can anyone answer my diode question?

And if your disagreeing with the fact that my led rocker switch needs to be grounded than sorry your wrong. I woukld take a picture but I dont have a camera with me. It says above the 3 prongs: POWER LOAD GROUND
