Bose bypass?

I just got back from HiFi Buys and I was talking to them about installing the AVIC-Z1 in my G coupe. They said that it wouldnt work because I have the bose system. The guy then backed up and said that they could do it, but I would have to buy a "bose bypass" and that would cost me $375. Has anyone heard of this crap? Thanks a lot.

thats bull****, all a bypass entails is rewiring the speakers and adding an amp or radio that has a built in amp

He could be talking about a JL CleanSweep. Regardless, he's an idiot and I wouldn't take my car to get worked on there.

I used a PAC-ROEM-NIS1 to connect my Z1 to the BOSE amp. Here's a description of one:

My Z1 works great with it.
