Reviving an old thread… I’ve searched so don’t “search” flame me… I’ve even asked in another event forum (no answer).

For Road Racing and/or Auto-Xing, what are the specific helmet requirements (generally)?... I know all tracks require Snell 2000 (some 05) – but what about fire rating? And do they require full face?

I run drag and I know the requirements there are loose – Snell 2000 or better is all they care about (they don’t care about fire rating or full face) – but I haven’t run on a road course (yet).

I want to get an open face helmet – but don’t want to have issues if I ever decide to Road or Autocross

Edit: Never mind... I found this in the main area (I was looking in road/autocross)... looks like open face is not only okay, but apparently recommended!

It is very important that you find out what your club or track requirements are, back when, always had a new or current Bell, went to drive a friends car for an enduro and they stated my Vemar was not legal! as was M1 spec, not car, so find out first!, and def try on, helmets are so good nowadays, most any top of the line will be excellent, I personally use Vemar and HJC,but mostly for bikes.
