First time ever to the track

Yesterday was my first time ever on a track, I was at Pahrump, NV at Spring Mountain race track. Check out the video I have from my last session:

Can't wait for the next one

If you don't want to download the full video, here is a little shortened version:

hey canadian, we (ishtan and i) were talking about you on the MR group buy thread over on my350z.com! how did you like those brakes on your first day out? the reason why we were talking about you is because i wanted to know if the 5zigen fn01rc would fit with those things. (i guess roneski had the wheel)

The brakes are awesome, never experienced any brake fade and they held up great. I've got them hotter on the streets beating them when I first got them then I did at the track. I think iStan and I are going to be test fitting them this weekend for you I'm assuming.

any reason why you didn't use MM and stayed in auto? wouldn't you want to downshift around corners to be in a lower gear going out of the turn? the auto takes a while to downshift for you...

great vid btw...looked like a blast

When I was watching the video I was thinking the same thing as 617G about downshifting in the turns using MM.

Looks like a lot of fun! I should take my G out and do this one day.

I was teaching him the track and proper lines. Why worry about shifting if you dont know the line , are still having problems being smooth with the wheel etc etc. Basics first, and it ran hotter in manuel mode. It needs cooling upgrades before the next outing.

Yeah I was trying to learn the line, and I actually had it in MM for the last lap but it got wayyyy to hot (260) on my coolant gauge, so that's why I stopped on the video. Need cooling upgrades first.

Nice job Canadian. Learn the track, the lines and then concentrate on getting faster with shifting etc.
