I've run my '06 Coupe in FS for the past two seasons in OMRSCCA and some in STLSCCA regions. It does pretty well--the driver is the weak link. I run 245/45/17 V710s all the way around on stock 350Z 17" rims (7.5" front; 8.0" rear). I'd like to see about wedging something wider on those rims the next go around. The car can definitely use a bit more rubber on the ground considering it's heft.

Balaguru: Did you change out front sway and/or shocks on your setup? I'm curious. I never see G's run in FS. It's mostly Mach 1's and Shelby's these days. I'm wanting to pursue prepping my car to the limits of the class as the 'stangs put up a good fight.

Well technically you're not FS legal if you're running 17s. The 03-04 can run 18s, anything newer has to run the 19s I believe.

I'm not sure why so few people have given the G35 a shot in FS, I'm a little concerned that the 135i might be classed there pretty soon though.

The base model G for '06 has the same 17" setup as the base 350Z from '03-'05, I believe.

For '06 G35 coupe:
Base: 17X7.5 front; 17X8.0 rear
18" wheel and tire package package: 18X8" front & rear
6 MT and autos with sport and handling package: 19X8.0 front; 19X8.5 rear

Yeah, I run the Hotchkis revised front sway bar with stock end links. I set it to max stiff, but I really have no evidence that this is the optimal setting. I have some Koni DA's sitting on my garage floor waiting to be installed. I'm out of the country right now, but will hopefully install them soon. Once, everything is installed I'll make an earnest effort to tune it. For this purpose, I've hinted to my wife that I'd like the MaxQData GPS device for my birthday I sold the idea by telling her we could even use it with my pda phone for navigation whenever we haul the family around in the Civic.

The mustangs are certainly fast. Someone posted about weight. My 04 G is around 3400 lbs race ready. This is the same weight as the 07 Shelby's race ready. All the other cars in the class are in the same neighborhood from 3300 to 3500 with the GTO out around 3800. The 135 looks pretty good on paper and if it gets classed in FS as Pales suggested it very well could be an overdog.

Looks like you (we) are safe for now. SEB classed it in DS.

Have you run 275/275 street tires? Is that setup recommended for daily driving duty?

On the street I run the ubiquitous 245 on 19x9.5 front and 275 on 19x10.5 rear with RE050 rubber. I'm pretty happy with it, but to be honest my street setup is more for looks as I never have the need for real performance on the street.

I'll probably be running street tires on the stock wheels in our local street tire class for the better part of this year. Not having a dedicated set of autox wheels, I need something that will be competitive but still streetable. I'm assuming the car understeers quite a bit with a staggered setup.
