I had the time of my life at Willow Springs.
Yesterday my friends and me went to Willow Springs raceway. I gotta say that i hadn't had this much fun since the first time i went to disney land when i was a kid. This was a day i will never forget. This actually made me forget about the first time i was in disney land.
Well this was my first time at a road race. I was pretty confident with my car doing all the canyon runs freeway exit/entrance drifts and all those things. A lot of people told me to forget about those things and just go with the flow of the track like learn the lines take it easy. Well in 4 laps i was pushing the car to its limits and going after a lot more power full cars with slow drivers. On the 6the and 7th lap i went into a 90 degree unexpected oversteer at turn 5. At the time of the slid i was doing 75 mph and my opposite lock on the steering wheel had no more room. Well this happened two laps in a row and i was able to correct the car and after that i accelerated after the apex instead of right through it.

After 6 laps i was doing very well and I will post the videos and pics later today when i get home. I took a porsche 997 S driver and a C6 vette driver for a run and they were shocked how the this 4 door car handled. Most of those drivers are 3rd and 4th time trackers. Tell u the truth i was surprised about my car as well. I know it handled incredibly well in the canyons/street but i did not know it would do this good at the track. I have stoptech lines and hawk pads and for 5 laps i could pound on the car and the brakes would hold up very well. Before the 1st turn I was doing about 120 and had to slow down to ~70 mph and take that turn. There was were 2 BMWs that span out. VW R32 had the tire come out of its rim 2 times. New roush mustang span out into the dirt. The buttom line is that i would not change anything on my car for now. Toyo T1rs held up very well and never lost their grip. Sway bars had stiff/stiff settings and i never EVER experienced any understeer even under hard braking and turning.
Whoever likes speed like me, has to go try this out.

yes the Willow springs raceway (AKA the big track).
+1 on g35driver track day. That would be an awesome event if someone knows how to rent/orginise a track event. The problem with that is not many people track their cars on this forum.

what group did you go with? The porche club? Are you sure it was just "willow springs" raceway. There are like 4 different named tracks there. Usually people drive on the "streets of willow".

Just from the first look at the track map, I said "wow a 1/2 mile stretch coming out of a fast corner". I bet those brakes were hotter then hell going into turn 1.
That in general looks like a very fast track
