My first AutoX school experience
My first AutoX school experience
It was July 5th at Gateway Intl. Raceway outside of St. Louis, MO and was put on by www.evoschool.com .
It was a great experience. Fun and educational all day long.
We ran 3 baseline trips then 10 with an instructor before breaking for lunch. We ran 10 more followed by 3 comparison trips at the end.
I was the only G and also the only first-timer. Lots of WRX, Evo's, S-2000, Porsches and Mustangs. My closest competition was a 2006 M3 that I barely beat each time. I loved learning the limits of myself and car (tires and no swaybars). My stock sedan had plenty of power and I ran with the VDC off and in 2nd gear most of the time. The only downside was leaving and driving home slowly.
I highly recommend this type of class and will take it again. They also run a road course on the infield and part of Gateway's NASCAR oval that I'll try out later.
