The others aside from Motons which are a "maybe" are things I probably won't be considering myself, but that others have had luck with. I don't know if they make anything for Nissan, but the Miata guys have a lot of good things to say about AFCO and JIC...JIC seems sketchy to me, but I'll leave that alone. The same could be said for Cusco dampers IMO.

It seems like your Truechoice setup *should* be quite good....I'm curious why you scrapped all that in favor of the PSS9s? Is the Bilstein damping really *that* much better? (I have both Bilstein Sports and Koni yellows on my current cars, but they can't really be compared to one another as one is a DD, and the other is my race car)
Another item I'd question is, with all that work, why didn't you use adjustable pillowball mounts for the Koni/Truechoice setup?

Again, I haven't really made up my mind as to whether the G will be my final choice. Good comparisons with the Z not keeping up with the RX-8. That makes it a lot tougher to decide on the G for STX.

And to think, all this is because I just moved to TX, and my race car doesn't have AC. Maybe I should just buy a pickup to tow the d4mn thing...
The basic core valving on the Truechoice Phase IV is well done, though I would like compression to not fall basically flat after the blowoff and have a smoother knee. The core issue is hysteresis and it's compromises to control on performance and ride quality. Having Truechoice use Monotube 2812's (which they will do on request) would be a much better choice, though would push costs up whereby other option's like more worthy of pusuit, IMO.

On the pillowball question, that's what I was running. Reason for the switch was because of ride height and having too many hard front crossmember to ground strikes at speed. Even with as much preload that I could dial in, I couldn't get the front high enough on pillowball mounts. Switching to the oem upper mounts on koni top hats allowed me to set the front height I needed and with less preload.

Now of course, pillowball upper mounts on this platform, do not allow for camber adjustment, that is adjusted at the upper A arm only.

Something else to say on coupe vs sedan. The coupe (along with the Z) has a lot more standard underbody frame stiffening parts. The front crossmember brace is much bigger and more robust (it will not swap onto the sedan, I know I have the part sitting in my garage, going to see if I can get someone to add a pair of studs to my crossmember so I can install it) Also missing are a pair of "tunnel stay" braces and a "pin stay" brace in the rear.

Besides the items you've listed, STX allows you to add or change the LSD - I think you could get significant gains by installing a Quaife ATB Differential.

Thanks for all the comments and responses, everyone. Although the G seemed like a possibility in STX, I think it's just too heavy of a platform to be competitive (even regionally here in Austin). So...I think I have made my decision, and am now shopping for a 2005 Saabaru 9-2x Aero. All the benefits of the WRX, along with a stock STi steering rack and a few luxuries (Not to mention, a VERY large selection of aftermarket go-fast bits and STX ECU tunes available OTS from Cobb).

Look for me at Nats within the next few years!
