My kingdom for a swaybar!

Some heavy compression on that right-front, huh? Sure would love to cure that problem, but no front sway for the X available, as far as I'm aware.

Anyway, the X performed admirably this past weekend, even with my cheapo summer tires (I'm saving the R compounds for a bit later in the season). I don't know if it just wasn't hurt as much by the cold weather as other cars or what, but I outran most stock cars, regardless of class, and some modded cars, as well. Take a look at some of the final results. I included the top 1 or 2 entries of each class in stock, except SS. I left out is SS because both entrants beat me (rightfully so). Interestingly, we had a big Z turnout with 5 of them (most were modded). I was faster than all. Hope this trend keeps up through the season.

^seet picture, little stiffer springs would make ur right front tire to get off the ground on that same turn.

Damn. That's surprising. Heck, looks like you might be close to lifting the right-rear.

Too bad I can't swap springs and stay in stock class, though.

What bars (and settings, if adjustable) are you running?

Stillen, med/med… I have slightly different setup now and that particular pic was a real hard/tight corner – on a big track… the speeds were quite a bit more than and Autocross track, so I probably wouldn’t have had the same amount of lean/hunch on the corner in your pic.

I never had the same “wow” feeling that most people do from sway bars… for the track, I should consider stiffer setting – but I’ve never thought it was that big of an improvement for even spirited street driving… I’ve had them on for soo long I can’t even remember what stock was like – but I do remember not noticing as big a difference as everyone posts about… but there are several mods I have that I wouldn’t rave about like many people do.

This isn’t to suggest you shouldn’t get sway bars – its just IMO, don’t expect drastic changes (or maybe I’m the only one that didn’t get drastic changes).

with enough grip on the tires combined with rigit side to side weight transfer will make your tire close to the apex to get off the ground a little.

I tend to agree. The amount of stiffness needs to be set for your particular set-up including the stickiness of your tires, the track surface, other suspension components, etc. Most noticeable with a set of sway bars is the amount of lean, so a lot of people set their bars up too tight. Traction through the corners then becomes an issue, so really the advantage of adjustable aftermarket sways is being able to fine tune the handling and make everything work together better and maybe tune in different over/under steer and break-away characteristics.

Wow, SCCA Solo classifications sure has changed since I went AutoX. G35 Coupe used to be in B Stock along with MR2, S2000, 350Z, NA RX7 & older porsche. G35 sedan used to be in G Stock along with WRX's.

The sedan still competes with WRX. Both in DS now. Non-turbo Imprezas are in GS. G coupes are in FS with the Stangs, although I've yet to see one at a local event. I'm the only Infiniti.

ummm... zmfg??
