so i plan to get into some tracking this summer. some reading on here and my350 shows that the rpf1s are pretty popular. but, i was also considering widening my oem 19" rays through www.weldcraftwheels.com. that way i could choose the width of the front and rear wheels, instead of choosing from the available wheels. i need to keep at least an 18" wheel for brake caliper clearances. what are your thoughts on widening the oem 19s? i believe the front and rears weigh 19lbs and 21lbs respectively.

Rpf1 are great track wheels for many reasons- sizing price weight design.
Probably want to stay away from widening your 19s and spend the money on new wheels that are light 17s or 18s which are better weight/size for tracking.

^details please, what do you use them for? how much wider did you go with the rears and how much did you take out of the fronts?

This is my street set up. I went with toyo r888 for the rear and on the front i run hoosier pro streets. I went 2 inch wider in the rears. And the fronts are from a g35. The fronts are always an eye opener. hahaha. they are actually 17 inch spares from the 07 g35 sedan. talk soon mike

I believe that whole setup ran me less than $800 buying them from Racing teams. You don't need new if you are going on the weekends and just a beginner. Most are 275 and 4 are 305's (R888).

the problem i have with widening wheels, is it does nothing to account for proper offsets. Now I am not talking crazy stanced offsets, but widening towards the inside does not give you much room for running wider tires properly in my opinion.
I would imagine spacers would be required and I am just not a big fan of spacers, but have fun anyway. it is your money afterall.

exactly why i will widen my stock wheels for the street to run with spacers, which i already have, then get some 18s with better offsets for the track. but, good spacers are usually allowed on the track. the ichiba v2 spacers are what i have and i push the car pretty hard with them on and they have held up great

you should buy my 18" work miesters for the track. they were my track set-up but im not going to track the car anymore. 19 lbs front 20 lbs rear.
