Track preps - Brakes?!

Hey all, I'm really itching to take my dd 08 G35S manual to our local tracks here, but need some feedback on what works on these cars on the braking dept, and weaknesses that need addressing. I will need track or track/street pads and replace the fluid...but what else? It currently has the Eibach Pro Kit, that's it. Shocks still have good damping. The car feels planted on on/off ramps.

Note that I track regularly in my E46 M3, so I'm aware of the Hawk line of pads - DTC, HP+, etc. but really need to see how the G will do at ACS, WSIR, Button, etc. Realize that it won't get close to the lap times in the M3 but car feels tight enough on the street. I may upgrade to RS3s or NT01s later if this all works out

Any inputs at all? I'm planning on attending and wringing out the G this year and will of course post pics and GoPro stuff.

My tracked M3:

For track use, use race pads like carbotech xp8 or xp10 depending in what tires you're using. Also steel lines and dot4 fluid. That'll be good enough to be able to safely drive your car at speed. I run hawk hps on the street(dont like them will be switching to something else after these are worn) and carbotech on the track and I outbrake 90% of cars, in fact that's how I catch up to a lot of cars is that I can brakes later and spend less time braking without fade.

For brakes my track setup uses project mu HC pads and the Re-11s in the rears and bridgestone re050A in the front. I prefer the R888s for the track but they weren't in stock for the size i needed. Hope to see you out there!

Err, is the 08 a v36 sedan? Not really familiar with the v36. Maybe you should check around on the 370z forums? There should be some people there that track and may have some ideas.

Or maybe look at the motoiq 370z build? They seem to make a big deal out of the oil and water cooling. And the differential cooling which is a problem in the v35's as well.

Just curious as to why you aren't running the E46 m3? I think you will be dissapointed in like every respect with the g35 compared to the m3.

The E46 M3 is my track car still, but really curious on how my dd V36 will do on tracks I really know, like ACS, WSIR, Buttonwillow. The handling felt nice and planted driving it on the street, even with just these Eibachs. The only areas I'm worried about are fading brakes/pads and any overheating issues since I've heard Nissan/Infiniti have issues here.

Oh, which BBK works well and installs easy enough, and still fit our 19" wheels (I'm running the G37 Coupe's)? Thanks for the link to MotoIQ, any other sites to recommend?

For my G35 Coupe (brembo) I run Endless pads on the front, stock pads on the rear. Stop Tech Powerslot slotted rotors all around. The car brakes harder and you really see a big difference in initial bite. I have run several track days on this set up no problems at all. The instructor drove my car pretty damn hard and had no complaints either, I'm very happy with this set up, though as expected, the front pads dust a lot.
