autox videos

I posted a bunch of videos of my autox runs on the web. I'd be interested in knowing how some of the faster autoxers think I might improve my performance. The videos can be found here: http://www.idanim.com/main/autocross/index.mcont.

thanks,
Bala

Yup and we get 8 runs, too. Several clubs in the area use the same surface. Only downside is that it's about an hour away from the DFW metroplex.

Hey, I watched your fastest time vid and it was very entertaining...you should hook up with our club. www.g35ownersclub.com For more info about us, visit the Groups and Clubs section and click on the DFW link or go here...https://g35driver.com/forums/dfw-g35-owners-club-136/ I'd love to participate in one of those AutoX days and our club will be setting up track days at MotorRanch Raceway soon.

Just joined the DFW club. You should definitely make it out to one of the area autoxes. So far I've been the only G out there. It's tons of fun and the car gets lots of compliments.

Thanks for the vids. It was a little difficult to see where you could improve, but here are some general tips.
- ease onto the throttle as you unwind the steering wheel coming out of turns. I think I saw you starting to fishtail out of turns a couple times.
- a trick to hold yourself in the seat: move your seat back about 2 inches and pull up the slack in the lap belt and shoulder belt. tug hard on the seatbelt to lock it. while holding it in place, move your seat back up to your driving position. This will keep the belt tight against your body and helps around turns. (I just learned this one at my last auto-x from an old porsche 944 driver who wanted a ride-along in my G.)
- around fast turns, AIM for the apex cone, and you will slide just around it and not hit it.
-try to use all of the track as possible, like coming out of a turn swing wide so you will have the steering wheel straighter.

Good luck and have fun!!

hehe ... yeah, I have a tendency to stomp on the throttle--not the fastest way through the course, I know. Thanks for the tips.

I think the clubs that I've been to do fun runs for free, but I usually need to head home by that time. I've definitely been impressed by the clubs around here--very organized.
