Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
Wouldn't that leave a funky depression in the pedal where the aluminum is supposed to be?

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
I'm just looking for a dead pedal that comes up and meets my foot. I'm 5'9" and with everything else comfortably adjusted, the dead pedal is about an inch or two away from being useful. I've seen that the aluminum dead pedal is a bit taller and has a better angle on it. However, I'm not interested in swapping out all of my pedals for aluminum pedals (and having one aluminum pedal would look silly), nor do I want to spend that much.

Aren't the bolts attached to the floorboard? How would you use longer screws?

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
The "kit" I received (which I am assuming is the same set of pedals used on the 350z) includes a dead pedal that is exactly the same as stock dead pedal. Except it has 5 holes drilled into it so that the aluminum trim can be attached. If you remove your stock dead pedal (and you turn it over) you can see it has blanks in the same spots.
The way this pedal is attached to the floorboard is somewhat flimsy. There are screw posts attached to the floorboard. It's somewhat easy to strip the plastic "receptacle" on the dead pedal itself.
Some people have used the dead pedal from the FX. I understand that these are somewhat taller.

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
I see that all the pedals except for the gas pedal has the black rubber nubbies protruding through the holes. Anyone know why that is? And does this make the gas pedal slippery?
Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
I don't know why this is, but I can say that my foot has never slipped off the gas, although I haven't tried heel-toe on the track yet where I could foresee that as a 'potential' problem. I'll let you know. FWIW my shoes usually have rubber on the bottom.

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
i can not get this damn break pedal on compleatly. I have gotten it one probaly 90% but there are still parts that are not attached i have tryed hot water and a screw driver any one got any more tips. Do u think it will slide off if i have all four corners attached but not one side
Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
Another source for these pedals is www.nissanparts.cc. Last week I ordered the pedals including the clutch/brake pedal for my 5AT sedan and they were 24% off the list price. They're not in stock so I have to wait awhile. But that's okay since I'm in no hurry.
Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
You can go to any Nissan dealer and order the Footrest Pedal seperately. The part number is: 67840-CD011.
I think list price is only $15-$20.
Also, does anyone have the Nissan part numbers for the 6MT Brake and Clutch pedal covers?
Edited by masetodd on 05/02/03 09:37 AM.

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
I put some tire shine on the back of them and they slipped on fairly easy while using a pocket screw driver. Hope this helps. However be careful when installing the gas pedal. How I did it I don't know but I somehow bent or mis aligned the arm. My car now idles at 1500 rpms unless I pull up on the gas pedal. Anyway just passing it along so know one else gets stuck with this problem.

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
yikes, i wonder how you did that. were you installing the pedals while pushing it all the way down? Something similar to that happens to a z38 that I drive the clutch gets stuck almost to the floor after really getting on the car. Its a hyrdolic pump problem im sure.

Re: Aluminum Pedal Install Photos/Guide
I think I bent the pedal rod somehow while trying to loosen the clip. If I did then that rod is made of some weak material. Just be careful is all I have to say!

Hey johnzg35,
I went to www.nissanparts.cc and couldn't find the aluminum pedals for the G35. Did you get it for the 350 or G35? thanks
