Thanks for the great DIY. I realize this is for refinishing the entire rim but I found this page because I was searching DIYs for curb rash repairs. I've searched and searched and I've had no luck finding out if anyone has gotten a color to match the OEM rims? I know the OP originally said that the factory won't give the color out but surely someone has found something that is close...anyone?? Thanks guys!

the only thing that is close is some high temp silver paint...

I know this is an old thread but would it be possible to do this with the tires still on the rims?

Sure it would, lots of peeps do it that way. You jus need to get some good tape to mask off the tires.
