DIY- Removing body side molding (vid)

i found this looking on a 300C forum on how to remove the moldings... im sure this can work for the G Coupes as well...

G35 SEDANS YOU CAN NOT DO THIS... YOU HAVE HOLES UNDER MOLDINGS

EDIT: WARNING depending on the color of the car or if the car is allways in the sun... the paint maybe faded

DIY: Beebo side door removal W/PICS (G coupe)

Mods: I guess if you want to merge this thread and Beebo's together you can do that.

After watching the video in Beebo's thread this DIY looked a million times easier that what I thought it was..

This DIY is probably the best one for looks for spending $0

Video:

Very very easy!

Spray down with WD-40.. let it sit for 10 min.. Use a scraper wrapped in a cloth

Peel the molding off with one had slowly and easily while pushing in with the scaper

Throw those moldings on the ground and take pics

heres one side with the moldings

One side with out

Use goo gone or bug tar removal for all that sticky stuff

Let it sit for 30 sec- 1 minute

Wipe it off.

factory option.. Kills the lines of the G coupe.

For the longest time I would always look at other coupes and think that they were hotter than mine.. I couldn't put my finger on it.

It was these nasty things and the pin stripes

THESE MOLDINGS DO NOT WORK- THEY WILL NOT PROTECT YOU FROM DINGS!

I must disagree with you. it just depends on the placement of the mouldings.

My car didn't come with them and I installed them myself... I have a few dings above the rear wheel wells but none on the doors themselves. If you were to look at the mouldings closely, you can see 3 or 4 spots on the driver's side that has been chipped and dinged from other people's doors!

To me, the mouldings are worth every penny!
