problem with rear brakes
I tried to disassemble the rear brakes today so that I could change the pads:
1. One of the (14mm) nuts to remove the caliper would not budge. I tried liquid wrench, a bit of heat, and a hell of a lot of muscle. I even have an air ratchet, but that was useless. HELP?
2. The lower (14mm) nut is about 1/2 inch away from the lower control arm. certainly not enough room for the socket set. I will try to get a low-profile wrench, but is there enough room to remove the bolt? Will I need to remove the lower control arm? Is this difficult?
3. Is there any trick to the parking brake? I understand that it is a drum assembly that binds against the inner surface of the disc hub. Can anyone confirm this?
I will take pics and post them once I've done the rear brakes. There are plenty of nice photos of a front brake job somewhere on g35driver.com.

I had the same problem when I first did my rear pads. The trick is to get a jack and raise up the rear assembly a bit. This will give you just enough clearance from that radius rod that is in the way so you can get your socket wrench in there to undo the caliper bolt. Good luck.
