2005 brake pads

Nobody has really mentioned anything about just brake pads for the 2005 6-speed coupe. you guys mentioned that all 2005 brakes are the same size...are they also the same size as the 2003 and 2004 g35? what kind of pads can be used on the '05 model? axxis metal masters? hawk hps? i've seen too many people concerned about slotted rotors or bbk instead of a simple setup. thanks.

Right now, I'm sad to say, NOBODY make aftermarket pads for the 2005. Just the X.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

The last gen M45 uses the same front pads as the current G. However, the compound from Hawk is no advantage over OE. There is no good option for the 05 and up G's yet.

hey man...thanks for the input... i can't help but feel that although the brakes are good enough, they still feel awkward. i don't know what it is but, it seems like the entire braking system feels a bit underpowered at times. could it be just the pads? the rotors? the master cylinder? any comment is welcome.

I think the OE parts are great for the road. I would like a more aggressive pad for the track and a two piece rotor as well.

ahh i see. in my opinion...i believe a more aggressive pad should suffice for most purposes, but from what others have said, it seems like the 05+ is lacking some aftermarket brake support.

The 06 350Z uses the same pads so aftermarket pads should eventually be available.

that would be great news! but why is it taking them so long to come out with these brake pads? it's been almost two years now.

The g is the red headed step-child. The Z waited for another year until the larger brakes were included (2006). Hawk said that in July we should see support.

Sorry for the long link. We had some performance pads made in-house. We used them on our shop race car and on DD cars, too.

it says 2005-2007 front brake pads but from what i know 2005 has an exclusive brake pad on the front. i have been having issues using any pads from pep boys or autozone or napa cuz they dont fit. they are too small. so 2006 and 2007 pads i dont thinkare the same as 2005 pads.
