Question "Sport Tuned Suspension"/ Eibach Lowering Springs

Here is one I haven't seen discussed much (I probably missed it)

I am getting a 2006 6MT Coupe in about a month. This one comes with the "sport tuned suspension"

How much of the "sport tune" do you guys thing I will lose if I install Eibach's Pro springs?

I want to lower it about an inch to close the gap in the fenderwell. Gonna install 20's too. Just curious what, if any performance I may lose.

Eibachs...................

Why would you think that you'd lose performance
by installing lowering springs? After you buy the
car and after you have the springs installed make
sure your alignment is within specs. The only way
you'll lose hp is if you install super heavy 20s!
Keep it LIGHT!!!

I am probably gonna install ADR Sterlings.

20x8.5 in the front, 20x9.5 in the rear. With maybe 30 or 35 series Toyos. Not to sure on tire series yet either. Suggestions are welcome here.

Does anybody know how much more these weigh than the stock 19's.

From what they look like, u are going to lose about 0.3-0.4 seconds in a 1/4 mile. Stock 19s are very light for being 19s.

I think it is a better choice, eventhough u are going to lose some performance no matter what kind of 20s u put. But i think Axis Mods look better than the pic that u posted.

I want to lower it about an inch to close the gap in the fenderwell. Gonna install 20's too. Just curious what, if any performance I may lose.

Your oem starting point
314/427 on linear springs

What you thinking about

Eibach G35 Coupe progressive springs 1.1”/1” drop
Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 229/337 initial/final rear 274/463

Weight transfer issues will be effected, as in brake dive and squat when rolling on and off the throttle. Turn in will also be effected unless you equip with aftermarket sway bars. And even then you'll still have the issue of being on two different spring rates side to side while cornering. Overall compromises on performance I wouldn't stand for.

You can ditch the perfomrnace compromise by going with 350Z RSR springs and get the same drop on linear springs. Since you have the 05/06 coupe sport suspension shocks, no reason to believe that you don't have enough shock dampning. Though as alway's Tokico D-specs would still be a worthwhile upgrade, because they are simply better.

RSR 350Z linear springs 1.1"/1.1" on G35 coupe
Spring rates in LBS 345/417

Question

So.....I think what your saying is that if I go with the RSR 350Z springs I will get a 1" drop, but still have performance close to stock with my current shocks? (even better if I go with the Tokico shocks, right?) But the cornering
should be better because the srping rates will be closer to each other in the sides, right?
Would you say that I should go with G35 Tokico's or 350z Tokicos if I get the RSR 350z springs?

Thanks in advance for helping me sort through the confusion.

I just replied to your pm, but I did want to answer the D-spec question above. If you get Tokico D-specs go with the one's ment for the 350Z. Also keep in mind that your oem suspension does have a value here in the market place, selling the shocks/springs would help recoupe your investment in aftermarket shocks.
