cross Threaded one of my bolts/nutcombo

cross Threaded one of my bolts/nutcombo

well i was installing my oem springs back on and i think i cross threaded one of my bolts/nut combo thing that connect the lower control arm to the strut or shock or whatever it's called. please help. it won't move in or out. what should i do? should i take it to a infiniti dealership to fix it and pay them or to a local bodyshop? there is about 1-3mm of play around it and it move from side to side. and it won't tighten or get lose enough to do anything. please help.

depending on which part it is. If its just the nut, not the bolt, try to slice it off without harming the threads on the bolt, otherwise get new components if you cannot replace the bolt in the component. Take it to a mechanic you trust NOT a body shop. Last option is the dealer in my opinion.

i don't know which one i messed up... how do i take it off... i tried two breakers. one on each end with two people trying to move it.

yeh, we usually don't cross thread that bolt/nut on the strut or shock or watever it's called.

take it in if you can't break it loose.

Get a nut splitter and break the nut. Replace both nut and bolt and your good to go. But of course I'm assuming you know about the different bolt grades?

But reading your posts I'd guess probably not. Go to a shop and pay the $$
