rim size...

what is the deal with getting 20s v 19s v 18s, does each have certain benefits. I am looking to get rims and I want to lower my car so are 18s my best bet, I am kinda confused.

also, after i get the actual rims how much will it cost me to get a decent set of tires that fit and the cost of the instillation, i just want to know how much i should be ready to spend. thank you, max.

the larger a wheel size, the lower the profile of the tire.... however there are extremes to anything.

17's being stock, an 18 is a "plus 1 size", 19 is a plus 2 size, and 20 a plus 3...

if for apppearance, then chose whatever floats your boat....

if for performance, 20 may be overkill, 17-19 would prob be more suitable with 18 being a good balance.

basically the larger the wheel, the more weight is added and farther from the center point of the axle, which can lead to slower accelleration and braking...

granted the larger a wheel diam, the wider they usually come in, for most wheels you can get wide enough widths between a short range (aka 16-20 inch wheels come in many widths)

heres an article from Grassroots, i learned more from a couple of years back when i got into autoX. might help understand the weight and rotating mass issue a bit.

tires may cost anywhere from 500 for a set up to 1000$ or more for a set depending on company and style of choice. depends on is it a ultra performance, all season, wet weather... etc... thats your choice.

installation. most shops avg around 10-20$ per tire... if you shop around you may be able to find less.
