I have a buddy with an 05 Coupe 5AT with some serious brake problems. When he had 10,000 miles on the car he felt his brakes were starting to go bad. According to him the brake pedal and steering wheel would shake as he came to a stop. He would also feel the same thing in the steering wheel as he took off (but only at low speeds). As speeds increased it went away.

Being concerned he took his car into Tustin Infiniti. They diagnosed it as "bad brakes" and machined his rotors and put new pads on. The problem was non existent for a week. But after a week the same problem started to happen again. At this point my buddy is pretty pissed and wants to know what is going on with his car. The dealer seems to have no answer.

Can anybody possibly shed some light on what is going on with his car? It would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like maybe a warped rotor.

 

Thats what I thought, but the dealer machined the rotors and the same thing happened a week later. Any other ideas?

 

have them do a runout test on the rotor. too see if it's wobling.
