Clunk from rearend while applying brakes in reverse.

Well i seem to be having this clunk/thud sound and feeling when i'm backing up and hit the brakes.I've taken my car in twice for this problem and of course it will never do it at the dealership I'm ready to rip my ****ing hair out and drive this p.o.s. off a cliff. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any help is appreciated.

is it on level ground and do you come to a complete stop? Is it a intermittent problem ?

What year is your car. My brother has an 06 auto. and was complaing of a clunking noise, but when he took off. Infiniti told him the when they were made some bolt weren't torqued down right and were making the noise in I believe somewere in his rear axle. Hope this might help. More info on your car to.

It seems to happen on level and unlevel ground. I don't come to a complete stop, just touching the brakes while backing up and thud. It almost feels like you ran something over. It doesn't happen eveytime. I'm at my wits end with this car. It costs twice as much as any car I've ever owned and has had twice as many problems.

Nope not even a spare tire in the trunk. There is definately something wrong with the brakes or rearend.

You don't have to come to a complete stop to do it. When it does do it, it's as soon as you hit the brakes while backing up.

Have you gone on a drive with one of the Ifiniti service techs to let them hear the noise. If they hear it they should fix it if your car is still under warranty.

i dropped my coupe at the dealership today for the same thing and they told me it was the pads hitting the caliper when i brake. I still have to talk to them again but im not sure they are gonna do anything because i have "aftermarket" pads. I'm running the axxis ultimate pads but i didn't know that you have to buy dealership pads to get service. oh well i'll keep you'll posted on the outcome!!
