Installed (w/ pics): 350z unrevised springs on my G35 coupe

Just did the install yesterday. It was one of the easiest suspension R&Rs I've ever done. It took a total of 30 minutes to do both rear springs, and 1 hr 25 minutes for each of the fronts. BTW, this is the first time I've done anything with the suspension on this car.

Anyway, I just wanted a little more tuck while still maintaining the stock ride characteristics. That is why I wanted to try the 350z (unrevised) springs first. They came off a z with about 40k, so the springs were already as settled as they'll ever be.

I got about a 1/2" drop on the front, which looks very good. It has a nice proportion of wheel/tire size to fender gap.

The rear has zero drop. Kind of disappointing. I may pull it out and see if the springs aren't seated properly, but I doubt that's the problem. Oh well, for $50 you can't go wrong, huh?

I'll post before and after pics this evening when I get home.

When I did this mod with my car, I had exactly 1/2 in. drop at all four corners. You might wan't to take a look at your rears. Also, these springs have seemed to settle a bit after a year of use. I need to go back in and get the camber adjusted.

26 1/2" in front

27 1/2" in rear

I just measured them again, after driving about 40 more miles today, still the same as after I drove last night. Like I said, the "new" springs have 40k miles already, so I doubt they'll settle anymore. I really like how the front looks now, though. It's a very subtle difference, but it makes the front look a little meaner, without having a ridiculous drop.

Interesting that you went with Z springs on the coupe. I think you are the first one I've heard about doing this. I have a sedan and of course many sedan drivers go Z springs for the one inch drop all around. I love mine. The only thing I can think of that would be better would be some adj. shocks/springs.

Any pics of your ride?

^^^ I've heard of some others having Z springs on coupes, though they don't provide as much drop as they do on a sedan.

I want to apologize. I have the before pics, but every time I had a chance to get "after" pics, it would start raining, and I had drill this weekend, so I was out of town and didn't get home until this evening. I think (though it may just be the "butt dyno" effect) that maybe the rear springs have settled down a bit. Or maybe it's just the rear splash guards I installed that change the visual proportions. Either way, it looks really good.

As soon as I get a chance to get some dry pics on a level surface, I'll post them up.
