Brake pad wear question?

To all you brake masters. I was told by someone that slotted/cross drilled rotors increase brake pad wear and shorten the life of your brake pads. Is this true and is it worth the extra expense if you don't track your ride?

the reason for having slotted/cross drilled rotors is for better "bite" ... you will stop faster and shorter but you will experience a decrease in pad life

go pm "stoptech" the guys at stoptech use this name here and I'm sure they can give you a good explanation. You might also want to try their website: www.stoptech.com and check the white papers they publish. It has a ton of general info about brake systems in general.
