So I just read through the big long write up on stoptech.com about Myth #1 – BRAKE JUDDER AND VIBRATION IS CAUSED BY DISCS THAT HAVE BEEN WARPED FROM EXESSIVE HEAT. Quite an interesting read considering that I feel that my rotors are "warped" at this point due to the vibration I get in the pedal (more noticeable at lower speeds).

According to this write up from StopTech (credit: Carroll Smith), the vibration actually comes "pad material transferred unevenly to the surface of the disc" which causes "thickness variation" or "run-out". It goes on to say that this can occur when a brake pad exceeds its thermal limits which is quite possible in my case as my current setup has been tracked several times and the Hawk HPS pads I have are not really recommended for track use...

A warped rotor has always been a handy scapegoat for brake problems when folks don't know what else to blame. Rotors to do not warp that easy, especially under most street driving conditions.
But improperly torqued wheels can contribute to the problem.
Any dressing, resurfacing or turning a rotor is mostly to get a good surface for new pads. Of course, it is also necessary if the rotor IS out of spec for trueness.
Bedding in pads is very important, and the manufacturer for the particular pads should have specific instructions.
