Handling question?

Hi Guys, I drive a 03 Sedan with 18 inch wheels and 245/45/18 tires which I put on last summer. I still have my original 17 inch wheels and was wondering
if I put back the 17's with 225/50/17, would the car be lower by almost
an inch and therefor handle better as the 18 inchers are 677 while the 17 inchers would be 656, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks
DBoy

Reasonable Ride height [center of gravity] has very miniscule effect on the transfer weight as the body rolls onto tires. 1" lower is lucky to affect things by 1.25%.

0.80G x 1.0125= 0.81G

Which ever tire has the highest load index will probably perform best at the limit assuming the same brand and model.
