Dude, with all due respect, but a girl with some curb rash might be a better driver than you!!! On the other hand, a guy with NO curb rash might be a worse driver than you!
Come on now... Do you really think that getting a curb rash makes you a bad driver??
I wonder how you're going to feel about your driving skills when you do get a curb rash!! Are you going to call yourself a bad driver???
I'm not claiming to be an amazing driver but for a group of car junkies (g35driver members) I'm suprised it's such a common occurence. Personally, I would want to shoot myself if I curbed my rims, and you're probably right. Now that I've said that it will probably happen.

The only good reason for curb rash that I've personally witnessed so far was in college. My roomate was driving with his girlfriend and pulling up to park in front of our apartment. We had a neighbor who was a hot chick and she happened to be standing outside when he pulled up to park. As he was parking, he saw her and was totally checking her out and BAM! He drove up onto the curb. Not only did he jack up his rims, but it was embarassing to do that in front of the hot chick, not to mention his girlfriend who was PISSED because she knew he was checking out the girl. That was pretty damn funny. Now, if any one of you curbed your wheels doing that, you are forgiven....

accidents happen...

and youre saying that if theres curb rash on the wheels then those $3k wheels have depreciated to $0?

its fixable for sure. and it doesnt cost that much (depending on how bad it is). so thats why people still sell wheels even with curb rash...

it's called the busy-ness and the hussle bussle of everyday life....

driving down the road...doing business on the cell phone, trying to drive and shift with one had, talk on the phone at the same time. Yeah...I know...shouldn't talk and drive.

Hell...it's easy to do. espically with the crap tire setup I got from creative auto works. Hell...I have zero tire protection!

The other day I got some rash in middle of the parking lot. The parking lot had a crack in it, and one side had slightly raised up. I hit it just right and jacked up a wheel.

When I was 16 and had no other cares in the world but my cars...I never would have gotten the slighest ding in them. However...you grow up and your priorities change, you get busy and things slide. For me...it happens to be the analness I used to have for me cars. I still take better care of them than 99% of everyone...but acidents happen and curb rash is a factor of life on a daily driven car...that is, with a crappy tire setup from creative auto works.

you know you can also get stratches from pot holes or any dip in the road that is as high as your rims because if you have 19" or 20" and low pros then your barly off the ground so anything that is as high as your rims can stratche it.....i dont have any curb checks but i do have some little dings and small rashes because of stupid pot holes and things that stick out from the road that i try to avoid

I got some rash on one of my wheels from a pothole on the freeway. At those speeds the tires compress too much and the lips are easily damaged that way, so its not just from curbs

How funny, just 20 seconds before I found this thread I was wondering why soo many people have curb rash. I'm 16 and I park on the street every night and I've never scraped against the curb.

wanna cookie? Come back when you've been driving for longer than a year. Sometime in your life it will happen, especially when you get older because you become lazier as driving becomes more natural. I know when I was 16 I was alot more enthusiatic about driving/parking

how cute....when I had less than one years driving experience I didn't have any either.

Let's see what you have after you have a few, or at least a year, of driving under your belt. lol

You sir, get a "good for you" medal! If you're going to create a topic, please make it a constructive one. Else, this thread is pretty pointless.
