About our Front Brembo Rotors ...

So I was swapping brake pads this weekend, and noticed something different on the front vs rear brake (brembo) setup so Im just wondering if its something wrong with my car or is it normal for all G's.

Basically, with the front wheels off, and the brake pads out of the calipers, I noticed that the rotors move very freely (not just in the circular motion of the wheel but even move laterally on the hub). There doesnt seem to be any screw/bolt holding the rotors in or mounted to the hub, this just seems odd! The rear rotors definitely were not like this, as they were firmly in place even with the rear wheels off.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is there something thats missing from my front brakes??

The front rotors are held onto the hubs by the calipers and the wheels when installed. The rear rotors are also held in place the same way but will be held much tighter when the e-brake is applied. It is also possible that some rust has formed between the rear rotor and hub which can make it more difficult to remove. All in all, you have nothing to worry about and everything is fine.

Agreed. When I replaced my rear rotors awhile ago, the stock pieces were a bit hard to get off since some rust formed between the hat and the hub. Had to use a rubber mallet to get the rotors off. The front rotors didn't give me any trouble however when I replaced those with a BBK some time ago.
