BBK install issue
BBK install issue
So just finished installing my Stoptech bbk with my brother yesterday and after bleeding the brakes, i started my car, stepped on the brakes and the pedal is reaaaalllly spongy.
we bled the brakes 3 times and there's still air in the system. A buddy of mine is a manager at...firestone and they tried fixing it but it didnt work! they told me i should probably take it to the dealership... ive scheduled an appt on monday but its gonna cost me 100 to bleed the whole system.
Do you guys have any advice? i dont mind spending the $100 but was just wondering if i should try anything else. thanks

You need to get a set of speedbleeders.

Start with the rear-right wheel that is farthest from the reservoir, then the driver side rear, then the passenger front, then driver side front. Expect to go through a jug of fluid but at least you will have flushed the system with some good Valvoline Synpower or Motul DOT 4.

Service manual specifies:
Right Fear --> Left Front --> Left Rear --> Right front
Did you follow the stoptech instructions to the T? Did you have the calipers tilted upwards while bleeding? Did you make sure the fluid reservoir never went empty and ingested air? Did you tap the calipers with a rubber mallet to get any clinging bubbles out? Did you do the outboard bleeder screws first, then the inner bleeder screws?
thanks a lot guys... no more problems
