Exclamation Brake Squeeking Even After Replacing Brake Pad

Hi Everyone,

My brake start squeeking at low speed just before coming to a stop couple of weeks ago.
I replaced my brake pad just today but the situation got worse imo.
I don't know what is wrong with my brake system.

I have Brembo option w/ 26K miles on them.

PLZ, any advice/idea/suggestion are welcome.

Thanks!!

Did you put brake quiet or some other synthetic lube on the back of the pads?

I replaced both front and back with HAWK HPS
& No, i didn't put the brake quiet or synthetic lube on the back of the pads.

Is this because the pads are brand new??

Also, the car doesn't feel right while rolling to a stop in netrual.
It feels like at the very end before it stops the brake is working.
I did have a hard time pushing the front brake pads back into the caliper while installing them.

Thanks!!

Coating the backside of the pads helps, as well as making sure the guides allow free movement.
Excess noise can be related to poor pad/rotor interface also, due to deposits, poor bedding, etc.

i believe Urban here has those Hawk pads on stock calipers but with Race pads, there going to squeak..... they only work when breaking hard and such and when your using them 110%

the stock pads dont squeak hah get some of those if you cant stand the squeaking

yes, it is verrry tricky... you have to squeeze the pistons in and then quickly put the put in place. a rubber mallet is very helpful

Wait at least 1k and see if they still squeek after that. If they don't go back to the dealership. I just got my replaced and had the same problem. Its over 1k miles now and no squeeky sounds.

Thanks for everyone's input so far

There was this strange feeling i mentioned in the previous thread before.
When the car is rolling to a stop in neutral, it feels the brake is working -_-"
It has this "stop w/ brake" feeling right before the car comes to a stop.

Do you guys know what might be causing this?
It's hard for me not to relate it to the brake pad replacment.
'cause it start occuring after raplacing the brake pads.

Thanks!!

try a slight chamfer at top of pads

i replaced my front pads (04 6MT sedan w/o brembos)with Hawk HPS last weekend. i had a hard time getting the caliper back on because of the lip at the top edge of the rotors from the wear. so i just gently put about a 32nd inch chamfer at the top of the pads where they contact the top of the rotor using a grinder. worked like a charm. your pads may be not making good contact with the rotors and thus giving you the "rubbing" feel you describe and also causing the squeeling.

i also used the lube on the back of the pads and followed Hawk's recommended break-in. so far pads seem fine and no noise.

Everytime you replace pads you must measure the rotor runout and shim to perfection [0.000" runout].

above shows how to measure

Lot's more to quiet stopping than a pad slap.
