Question 350z Sway Bar Question

I've done a lot of searching but I can't seem to find an answer. I finally have a full z unrevised suspension and a set of revised coupe springs to play around and swap with. So onto to my question....

Can you use 350z sways on an '04 Sedan 6mt? If so is there a benefit over the stock G sedan setup and are there any differences/revisions in the years. I remember reading somewhere that the newer 6mt sedan has the same size bar as mine, but the walls were thicker, thus improving hadling.

Your thoughts....

Thanks in advance

Full Z unrevised suspension as in unrevised shocks?

Oem 03-04 Z sway's are the same exact parts that your 04 sedan has now. A 04.5+ Z with the revised suspension will have a 17% stiffer front bar. As with anything, you'd need to weigh the cost to get one into your garage vs the cost of getting a aftermarket front and rear adjustable bar set into your garage. Most go with the latter.

DO NOT use the unrevised Z shocks unless the roads you drive on are perfect. I had them on for about a year and although they handled great for a stock shock at the track, the everday driving bounce and the highway porpoising was annoying. There's a reason why Nissan revised the shocks.

Yes full unrevised springs shocks. I couln't pass up the good price on ebay. I'm going to play around with the different pieces and see what I get. The bars are on ebay for $50+$35 shipping. Is it worth it at that price? Thanks for the insight & info.

I might not use them, but I read on a post somewhere that those shocks are not that terrible. I would use mine but I'm concerned that they have too many miles on them (about 45k). I can't seem to find any of the newer sport shock around from any of the 3 models. On the upside, since I only drive the car on the w/e the roads I tend to drive on are usually pretty smooth so they might not be bad.

I just found out they belonged to a 2006 Z and only have 700 miles on them. Is it worth considering at $50+$35 shipping?

Well I have no data to suggest that the rear oem sway's of any make or model of G or Z are any different from 03 to 06. So, will $85 shipped for a 17% stiffer front bar mesh with your plans on enhancing the car. I support front roll stiffness increases from my own testing. However, for $125 plus shipping one can buy a Progress front bar that is adjustable.

Unrevised oem Z shocks will bless your car with the same bounce and porposing issues that have been the bane of 03/04 Z owners. The shocks have a very high level of compression dampning which makes them feel like they are ready to rock. Problem is, once you encounter real world bumps the shocks lack of rebound control ruins any they have. This mean's corners had better be smooth as glass, otherwise the bounce is so bad you cannot carry speed as ultimate adheasion bounces away. I had a 03 Z suspension on my car at first, so I'm speaking from direct experience. Performance with Cusco Sway's was really nice, but that was when the pavement was smooth. I got tired of the bounce and porposing and sold the oem Z parts.

Thanks for the feedback and insight. I might just keep the front springs sell off the rest of the setup, use the coupe rears and I'm not sure what to do yet for the shocks since mine have 45k on them. I'll probably look at the Tokico D-specs since it seems to be the common choice here. I'm willing live with it being a bit stiffer. I'm just hoping to keep the ride as close to stock as possible.

I'll probably pass on the sways and get something aftermarket.
