Did you put anti-squeal gel/spray on the back of the pads? It helps a lot.

Remember the dealer markup is 100% above the price Nissan sells to them, this confuses the situation concerning quality vs price.

It is probably possible to find an aftermarket equivalent or one not too inferior in metallugy or fit and finish.............slottimg/drillimg costs again confuse apple and oranges.

So far I am between Axxis pads, Hawk HPS, or Akebono's but rotors i have NO idea on, OEM seems only a tad bit cheaper than aftermarket...what do you all have now?

I just installed Project Mu Type-NS. So far they are great, dead quiet, and so far no dust. With the OEM pads, I would've had to clean my wheels by now So far they seem to grip just as well as OEM, except much smoother.

Did you install the Project Mu pads on the stock rotor? Any signs of the rotor getting eaten up? Btw, do you have the stock Brembo Brakes? I'm looking to installing these pads soon.

No, I actually replaced my rotors with the Stillen Cross-Drilled/Slotted rotors.

I haven't heard of the Type-NS chewing up rotors. Most of the stuff I read on the sites selling them talk about them minimizing rotor wear...

NS pads are pretty mild. Their B-Force pads have more of a chance to eat up rotors, but they always get good reviews.

My B-force is pretty good on the rotors. At 20K, there is only a slight edge on the rotor.

OEM ate my rotors completely at 36K.

Don't get caught up in the fancy name, performance brake pad hype. I put a set of Raybestos PG Plus just to get me thru the winter and what a great set of pads! NO squeal, NO dust, stops with a vengeance and great pedal feel too. Won't use em on the track, back and forth to work...WOW!

That's good to know... I stayed away from Raybestos in the past, because previously everytime I used them, they either squeeled like a pig, or dusted like crazy, and sometimes both.

Some of them came with 2 year or lifetime warranties. When I tried to redeem them, they always denied me, saying that the warranty can only be redeemed at the store where you bought the brakes from And lucky for me, Pep Boys went out of business in the region.

R1 rotors, cheap & come slotted & drilled. Do a search... they were so cheap I bought them and didn't even need it (but they look good )

sorry to revise an old thread but i need brake recommendation for a 04 G35 auto with standard brake. has 187k miles. Last brake pad and rotor change was 3 yrs ago at around 150k ish. Now i heard a little squeaking when braking

Any recommendation on a cheap reliable pads with hopefully not too much dust? This is a daily driver with zero intention of any performance driving.
How would i know if i also need the rotors changed?
