Drop question
Hey I'm new and I owned an 04 coupe g35 w/ Brembo. I'm interested in lowering my car and perhaps add 19" wheels. I like to know what is a good drop without rubbing or scrapping. Also, I'm kind of on a budget and was thinking maybe good springs if anyone can recommend any that will give me a comfortable ride. I heard I need to align my car after, but wondered if I need camber kit or can I get away with it.
Any other suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks

Most aftermarket lowering springs would be fine. Maybe try some Eibach Pro-Kit springs, and yes you will need to align your car no matter what drop springs you get, and no (being on a budget) with a slight drop on 19" wheels you should not need a camber kit and (depending on your offset) nothing is likely to rub.

put it this way, if you're going to lower the car - do it right. don't cut corners/expenses to save a little now. in the long run, you will pay more.
Let say if I get Tein H tech springs. Will ride quality change or be about the same?? Will a 1" drop hurt shock/ struts in the long run?? Do I need to get aftermarker struts/shocks?? I want to do it right on my suspension except I only have so much money to invest right now. So, lets say if I can get springs and not worry about shock/struts going out because its only 1" drop. Then I can look into getting Camber kit to correct my camber.

I will agree nothing done to these cars should be done on too tight of a budgett, but with a mild drop, all factory specs can be reached if the technician knows what he is doing. Trusy me

thus not everyone will be able to get someone dropped on a prokit back into spec. heh.besides, there is no room for adjustment in the front - correct? and grant was able to barely get my rear back into spec with 350z h techs (and that was a sh!tty drop in the rear). i'd assume he'd have a lot of trouble with the drop i have now and no camber kit.

aheroforeturnity and redlude97,
I was more or less refering to the rear wheels, since that is where most of the problems are. It is true, with the stock upper controll arm you can not adjust the camber, but with a mild drop, most cars end up at about in the -1.6 to 1.8 range of negative camber. The factory alignment specs allow for up to -1.3 degrees of negative camber in the front, so that isn't realy all that bad. That is barely enough to notice and heck the car handles better with more negative camber anyways, LOL
The rear factory settings allow for -2.1 camber, and most factory cars end up about -3 degrees when they have a mild drop, but like I said, atleast the rear IS slightly adjustable (stock).
