Need Help with HAWK HPS

just got a set for the fronts for an 04 brembo...is this the right part number??? HB181F.590.. ive been trying to install it tonight but ended up giving up because of the excessive banging i had to do in order for them to barely fit...the sides of the pad seem too long for the slots...

it didnt seem right so i decided to put my old ones back out and am thinking of returning these...maybe stick with factory brakes pads for now..

but anyone else have this problem??was i sent the wrong pads??

thanks

I've heard of a few people having some issues getting the fronts on. They ended up just filing down the sides a bit to get a good fit.

From what I've read, it doesnt take too long to file them down, I think its just a matter of too much paint coating.

thats funny, last night i was installing HPS pads on my 05 (none brembo) and ran into some clearance issues as well. Not to long ago when i swaped the oem pads for another oem set they fit no probelm and the whole brake job took less then 30 min. With these babies... i was cursing the world and spent nearly 1 hour just doing the fronts

i had this problem with squeaking... i forgot to put one of the shims back on and another was half off... they were good for about 2 months squeak free, but now they are starting to get squeaky again

the front pads are a royal PITA to get in.

I may switch to project mu's this spring if the squeaking doesn't give up

I've heard if you don't break them in properly, they are prone to squeeking. I haven't had any issues with mine..... yet.
