Bigger Rotors

Bigger Rotors
Hi
Since fitting 19" aftermarket rims, I'm really unhappy with the size of the stock rotors. They just seem way too small now they are very clearly visible through the 5 spoke rims. I've done a fair bit of searching but have not concluded much with regard to my question. The question; I want to fit larger Rotors (cosmetic reasons). Does that mean new Calipers too?. Can anyone recommend an online company that can supply what I would like? finally, are rotors car specific, ie do I actually need G35 ones? - since I'm in the UK, I wonder if the 350Z rotors are the same, perhaps I can try and source here to save on tax, duty etc.
Thanks for any help.

Brake bias issues aside (there would not be any if you enlarge both the front and rear rotors) the real issue if fit of the stock caliper to the larger rotor.
All calipers have a max radius they will fit. Taking a rotor of 12" for example and wanting to swap it out for one of 14" sounds all well and good, but the caliper may top out at about 13". The body design radius will not fit the 14" without the top and bottom of the bridge area contacting the rotor. This will also lead to pad overhang issues as the pads too have a designed radius to them. (I discussed some of this in the Wilwood thread below too)
While you "might" be able to move up perhaps 1" in diameter without issue the net gain of .5" radius and the cost factor (they'll be two pieced custom rotors for certain) won't make it a wise choice. And you'll need to go probably about 1.5" OD larger in order to really alter the bolt mounts with adapters for hardware clearance.

^ +1 If all the rotors are upgraded you wont have a problem as far as your front and rear bias goes, but you will run into clearance issues if the rotors are to large here is a perfect example.
