Suspension Question

well my 350z suspension is being put in right now...and my mechanic just called me and said the shock absorber is seized..and the only way to get the shock out is to replace the control arm?...he said he called Nissan...and its 410 dollars per side ...he said he could replace the spring so it would still be lowered...

is there anyplace else i can get the control arm for cheaper?...is it bad to be driving on the seized shock absorber?..any help would be great...thanks ahead of time

Why would you need to replace the control arm? The shock itself has nothing to do with the control arm.

+1, what you are being told doesn't make any sense. If you have a bad shock at most you would just need to replace it. Is it the 350Z shock or OEM shock that is seized (I am assuming that means it is locked in place)?
