Question grabby Squeaky brakes on an 03

I purchased a used 03 G35 sedan and it has grabby squeaky brakes. I noticed the same issues with several others that I test drove. Is this a design issue that I need to learn to live with? The Dealer replaced rotors and did a full brake service before I took delivery. Is there a alternative pad that will fix this?

The Brakes also squeak at light pressure and low speeds. Not as big a problem but I would like to eliminate that as well if possible.

It's the pads more than anything else. The rotors are a bit too small so they tried to compensate with very sticky pads.

Try some Hawk HPS pads next time.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the tip! I purchased some Hawk HPS front pads on line for $66 and replaced my factory pads. It only took about 30 Min and made an immediate improvement in my ability to modulate the brakes. Anyone that feels their brakes require too much thought to operate smoothly should look into some non factory pads.

Overall performance seems similar and the squeak has not returned yet.

Did you make sure to follow the break-in procedure for the pads?
