URGENT:help with Brembo equipment

I have 60k miles on my 04 Coupe (6-speed) with Brembo equipment and I urgently need to change all rotors and all pads (front and back).

I did some research on rotors and I couldn't find the Brembo OEM (smooth surface) but I saw the Brembo crossed-drilled and Brembo slotted types. I like the slotted ones and I understood that these are high-performance, more expensive but better than the Brembo OEM (Is this true ?).

Price: the dealership is quoting $510 per Brembo OEM rotor (front). Other shops are offering $570 per pair of Brembo OEMs and around $800 for a pair of Brembo cross-drilled or slotted. Tirerack has the Brembo slotted ones for $373 a pair. Needless to say, I'm inclined to order the Brembo slotted from Tirerack.

With pads is even worse because I couldn't find anything on the web for Brembo pads. There are millions of other brands (Hawks included) but nothing for Brembo. To make matters even worse, I was told that if I choose to upgrade my OEM rotors to the slotted ones, I may as well try to upgrade the Brembo pads as well. I'm not sure what that means: are there any Brembo pads better than the Brembo OEM pads which could work better with the slotted rotors ? If so, where can I find those and for how much ?

Questions:
1. Should I go with Tirerack on ordering the Brembo slotted rotors for $373/pair ?
2. What exact type of Brembo pads do I need with the Brembo slotted rotors: the OEM or the "better" ones (for the slotted rotors) ? Where can I get them and for how much ?

I appreciate all your answers on this as this is a quite time-sensitive issue for me. I'm not interested in any other brands (Brembo only for both the rotors and the pads) no matter how good they are.

Thanks again !

Just because the FIT Brembo doesn't mean they're genuine Brembo parts. You will fine more and less expensive parts for your application.

http://www.hawkperformance.com/parts...d+Parts+%3E%3E
There is the link for ALL Hawk HPS pads for 2004 Inifiniti G35's.
See the ones with the holes on TOP of the pad? Those are for the brembos.
Hawk HPS Front: HB181F.590
Hawk HPS Rear: HB180F.560

The Hawk HPS pads are one of the favorites for G owners around here...

Thanks for your reply. I would like to stay with Brembos and not Hawks. I've noticed that Hawks pads are very talked about on this forum, however, I'm not interested in any other non-Brembo pads.

Do you think that the Brembo slotted rotors sold by Tirerack for $373 a pair, are a good deal ? Has anybody bought those rotors from Tirerack ? Are those good, bad, etc ?

Back on the Brembo pads issue: are there two types of Brembo pads, one which is the OEM and the other type which is more performant and would be recommended for the Brembo cross-drilled or slotted rotors ?

You can use Stoptech slotted direct replacement rotors which are cheaper than Brembos sold here http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=4900 or from Stoptech's own website. $262/front pair & $232/rear pair.

If you want to stick with OEM Brembo pads, try http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4875
at $200/front & rear.

Great ! Thanks a lot ! I was with Tirerack on the phone 5' ago and they don't negotiate. I was trying to see if they can match or beat the IRP price. The Tirerack are about $85 more expensive.

Quick question: do they specify on the rotors what's the minimum width ?
