350Z TEIN Stechs / OR G35 TEIN Stechs??????

Please help me, I ordered the 350Z TEIN S techs, because I heard that they have better spring rates then the G35 Ones.

Was this purchase better then the G35 Stechs, or what is the major differance. Is it more of a drop then G35 Stechs or less?

thanks much!

better spring rates? that's sbjective.

the approximate drop for the g35 s techs are:
-1.2" front -0.9" rear

with the following spring rates:
6.4 kg front 4.9 kg rear

the approximate drop for the 350z s techs ar:
-1.2" front -1.1" rear

with the following spring rates:
6.9 kg front 7.2 kg rear

if you want a softer ride, stick with the g35 s techs. i you want a stiffer ride, go with the 350z s techs.

I will like the drop of the 350Z Stechs better cuz itll be more even, but, is the ride going to be that bad with them? like how hard of a ride are we talking?

G35 oem shocks are 3/4" longer in body/piston rod lengths. Even if you cut your removable foam inserts that are part of the bump stops, avaliable piston stroke will be at a permium. Frequent contact with the bump stops is not a postive suspension trait to have or worse not know you've introduced it's negitive qualities to the ride and drive experience. IMO, pull your oem dust shields and buy 4 Koni progressive soft bump stops and cut them down to 1.5" in height.
That will give you more shock travel then trying to cut down the oem stops.

What oem suspension are you deaing with? I'll assume you have a coupe, what oem wheels size was your car delivered with?

Your car doesn't have the sport suspension, it wasn't introduced until 2005 and then only on car's the have rolled out of the factory with oem 19" wheels. What you have is the regular suspension, that Infiniti confused things by saying is "sport tuned".

That being said, I do not recommend your oem shocks with the 350Z S-tech springs, not just because they are longer body length and greater piston rod length, but because of how much stiffer the 350Z S-tech's are vs the oem springs you have now. IMO, invest in Tokico D-specs or Koni sports.

If you bent on keeping your oem shocks. Your oem bump stops are part of the oem dust sheilds. Only way to gain real suspension stroke back is to pull the dust shields off and run the Koni cut down progressive soft bump stops and install them in place

You can buy the Koni bump stops the same place that I did.

Go pdf page 13 the part number is KON15.34.20.000.0

Price listed is per bump stop.

I'll guess you have a coupe

Tein H-tech G35 coupe .6"/.3"
Spring rates 324/263

Tein H-tech 350Z drop when run on a G35 coupe .8"/.7"
Spring rates 358/375

So hack 1.5 inches off of the KONI bumpstops, k

How hard is it to replace the bumpstops if i decide to install them later, because i might install the springs this weekend, but dont wanna have to do EVERYTHING over again if i decide to change bumpstops. Im guessing ill prolly have to? If i just use the stock bump stops should I cut them down? if so how much?

I may get KYB shocks soon because my dad gets deals on them. Are they good to use?

I cannot remember how tall the Koni stops were before I cut them, just make the length you end up with 1.5".

Installing the rear bump stops would be as easy as pulling the rear shocks off. The front would mean pulling the front shocks off.

KYB GR2's should not be run with aftermarket springs since they are not valved for such use, you'll end up with the same issue you'll have with your oem shocks, just that they would be shorter in length. Not that much more would get you D-specs, buy them used if you have to, they are worth every penny.
