Brembo brake pad replacement

Doe's anyone know how to remove the brake pads for Brembo's. If so can you tell me how. I want to replace them myself instead of paying the dealer to do so.

i just did this, i installed the Hawk HPS pads. You have to take a set of pliers and pull up the pins that are in the poles that go through the top of your caliper.

With some work with a set of pliers you can pull the two poles that go across your caliper out.

After you get those out, your pads should still be stuck next to the rotor. To get the old pads out and the new pads in, your will want to use a screw driver and pry the pads toward the piston in the caliper. This will depress the piston and give you space to pull the pad up and out.

put the new pads in, replace the poles across the top, and put the two ins in and you're done.

There is a metal shim that is not necessary but you should attempt to keep this to reduce loud brakes.

you can use the search feature to find any and everything you need about this subject. There is a DIY tutorial in the Brakes and Suspension forum where this thread should be.

if you know how to do the front, rears are the same.

if not, heres the jist of it off the top of my head:
-jack up car
-remove wheel
***protect caliper paint by covering with cloth, it will chip if touched by anything***
-there are two retaining clips that go INTO the pins which cross the caliper. use a pliers to remove the two clips. remember their orientation.
-use a pliers to remove one of the pins that runs across the caliper. iirc you pull it away from you. when it is almost out the retaining metal piece will pop out. be ready for it. remove it
-remove 2nd pin
-use pliers to pull out each pad
-use something like a screwdriver and the rotor as leverage, to push pistons back into caliper. be careful not to chip the pistons or damage anything. GO SLOWLY- the pistons WILL go back in. again, take your time.
-replace pads
-put in one pin
-put in metal spring/loaded retaining pc
-put in 2nd pin
-put in clips
-reinstall wheel
-lower car

again thats off the top of my head .there's a DIY here. dont pay to get this done...its EASY.

use pliers to pull out retaining clips
