Sway bar questions
Sway bar questions
I am thinking of getting sway bars for my 05 G35 Coupe. As expected I am thinking of hotckiss or stillen. I think I understand that the new hotckiss comes with everything I need (poly bushings, collars, etc) and are quiet now. Is this true? I want it to handle better, but not if there will be any rattle or clunk noise. I have read the Stillen bars are quiet, but is it a good idea to add poly bushings? Anything else I would need to add to the Stillen bars?
What can I expect from these bigger sway bars? I know it will decrease body roll, but how much more harsh will the ride be...what are the negatives?

Stiffer sway bars reduce the independence of suspension and reduce the traction of the opposing tire.
When the body rolls and the bar exerts counterforce it acts as if this force is additive to the spring force........so a bump in a turn is more severe, going straight is roughly the same with or without a sway bar if the road is PERFECTLY SMOOTH!

So if I get the Stillen bars, will I need anything else or does everything I need come with it? It seems I have read others say they put on the poly bushings or they were having problems with the end attachments breaking or something like that. Will I see a big decrease in body roll if I use the stock bushings? I want to decrease body roll, but I really don't want any noise or clunking, that is why I am not getting the Hotchkiss.
I would recommend the Hotchkis over the Stillen, if not only for the inclusion of the poly bushings. The stock rubber bushings that is resued for the Stillen cracks and break quite easy, if it hasn't already.
If you lube the poly bushings well enough and properly (go nuts w. the lube where it is needed - the contact surface), you shouldn't expect it to make any noise. I'm personally on my original Hotchiks set from 2003 ... no noise still

the rear sways have a grease fitting so that's easy to lube w.out removing. the front you just unbolt 8 bolts and take off the bushing. and they did put horizontal stops on the bars now so they don't slide side to side.
