what are your goals with lowering springs? how important is a comfortable (soft) ride to you?

Looks and handling are my goals when purchasing lowering springs. As far as the soft ride, i have 255/35/20 on the front and 285/30/20 on the rear and it rides hard. Even with the stock 19's it rides hard.

do you want something that rides more stiff or a little softer than stock?

the s-techs are stiffer than the eibachs, so will provide better handling. They are also linear in the rear, while the eibachs are progressive all around which will lead to more body roll before they stiffen up

Your oem spring rates

314/427

Eibach G35 Coupe progressive springs 1.1”/1”
Spring rates in LBS initial/final front 229/337 initial/final rear 274/463

Tein S-tech G35 coupe 1.2"/.9" (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in LBS 358/274 (final rates only, softer intial front progressive rate unknown)

Based on what you want I would drop with either of the following

Tein S-tech 350Z springs G35 coupe drop 1.2“/.1.1“ (fronts are slightly progressive, rears are linear)
Spring rates in LBS 386/402

Swift 350Z linear springs G35 coupe drop 1.3”/.1.1”
Spring rates in LBS 336/364

I see coilovers in your future

Do it right the first time. It's worth it!

I'm looking for the same kind of setup, I have an 05 coupe with 20's 245/35F & 275/35R. I'd like to stay close to the stock ride but I don't want to go softer and also I like the idea of the rear linear setup.
So my best guess is to go with said previous:
Tein S-tech 350Z springs G35 coupe drop 1.2“/.1.1“ with spring rates in LBS 386/402. Do I also need coilovers? and what kind?
thanks

you don't need coilovers if all your doing is springs. But some aftermarket springs can kill your factory dampers. Like said above get coilovers. there adjustable you can also get some with custom spring rates so you get them as soft as you want.Coilovers do them once do them right no issues and no hassels. well theres my two cents
