Unpaint some painted wheels?

A buddy of mine bought these wheels and had all but the lip painted a GLOSS BLACK. he now has to take the 35 back to the dealership cause the lease is up, and I am in the market for them. However, the black he painted them wouldnt look as good as the original gun metal finish. is there a way to take off that paint smoothly and retain the factory finish? Thanks!
